Kalihi Union Church Preschool and Kindergarten offers classes for children ages 2 to 6. We intentionally designed our classes to be a place that is welcoming, nurturing, and academically stimulating. Our environment is such that each child will feel loved, unique, and part of a large family.
We use the Abeka curriculum to teach phonics, reading, language, poetry, writing, and math. The Abeka curriculum features a traditional approach to teaching and learning, cross-subject integration, spiral review, and plenty of hands-on activities to prepare children for a lifetime of learning successfully. Our entire program has been developed from a Christian worldview, planting seeds of faith in children throughout the year. Our curriculum also includes monthly themes that are studied school-wide. The daily schedule is structured and consists of teacher-directed activities, group circle times, learning centers, outdoor play, and free play. Every week the students participate in music, PE, and Chapel class. We also offer Hawaiian, Japanese, Hula, & Ukulele classes; all included in your tuition price.
